 Professional Soccer Coach

SoccerLife coach

As a coach it has been an absolute privilege to work with such a dedicated and hardworking group of players. I am constantly amazed by the progress and growth that I see in each of you, both on and off the field. Your determination, perseverance, and team spirit are an inspiration to us all.

Watching you develop your soccer skills and seeing the positive impact that this has on your confidence and self-esteem is truly rewarding. But what impresses me even more is the way that you support and encourage each other as teammates, showing kindness, empathy, and inclusivity towards one another.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your journey and for reminding me every day of the power of sports to bring people together and foster a sense of community. You are all champions in my eyes, and I am proud to call myself your coach.

About The Founder

Dedicated To Helping Kids Succeed

David O’Connor’s dedication to soccer runs deep – it’s not just a game, it’s a way of life for him. For over four decades, he has immersed himself in the sport as both a player and a coach. Since 2005, his DOC Football Academy has been teaching children the beauty of the game.

In an effort to make soccer accessible to all children, the academy now offers a Saturday and Wednesday program for children with special needs. O’Connor is proud to welcome all children, regardless of their handicap. He believes that every child deserves the opportunity to experience the joy of playing soccer.

O’Connor’s passion for the sport extends beyond coaching – he also uses it as a platform to give back. In 2004, he ran 800km from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur and back again to raise awareness and funds for cerebral palsy.

Today, O’Connor’s focus is on building the game in three major locations: Greensborough, Doreen, and Whittlesea. “I’m very passionate about football,” he says. “I’ve played it all my life.”

My Lovely Community

What Our Members Say

Emma was desperate to play sport like her brother and sister. Sadly there just weren’t a lot of options available….until we discovered DOC. She not only loves her soccer but the friendships she has built along the way.

The coaches are amazing people that care so much. The social interaction is just as important as the physical development. Can not recommend highly enough.

So blessed to have them in our lives

Jo Huybers

Our goal was to locate a  local sport that would allow Alex to engage with other children while cultivating a sense of empathy. Initially, he would become agitated when instructed, but thanks to  DOC, he has learned to remain composed and has become more fun to be around.

Alex has developed friendships and looks forward to the weekly social gatherings arranged by DOC every Thursday night.

Gus Guerresi

We found DOC Football Academy during covid lockdowns. Pat started one on one training sessions with Stavros and it was great. When lockdowns ended everything got better. We entered that beautiful community called DOC!!!

Stavros likes the training every Saturday but what he really loves are the social outings and of course bowling every Thursday! He rarely misses that! Since being part of the DOC group, he became more social and happier.

We are so grateful of David and all the amazing people running the DOC academy. Can’t thank them enough.
